The Best Budget Glock Parts Kit

Guys cheap glock parts kits are prevalent and competitively priced, but oftentimes out of spec components can cause serious reliability issues in different builds. How do you know if a kit is going to be good or not? Today, in this short video, I want to review one of the more affordable and reliable lower parts kits on the market today, the SCT Glock lower parts kit.

My SCT parts kit was pre-installed in a grit grips frame that I got for free for another review video. However, I was pretty impressed with the parts kit in general. Now keep in mind, the grit grips frame has a proprietary magazine release, so everything in this lower minus the mag release came from an SCT kit.

However I have to say it was nearly flawless out of box. The parts kit was reliable. In some parts kits, the magazine spring can be a little stiff, that wasn’t a problem with the SCT kit, it felt like OEM. The slide release locked back reliably. The pins haven’t had any issues with walking out of the receiver.

The trigger itself has a clean wall and break, implying that the trigger bar is in spec and the disconnector is of high quality.

The only issue that I had with the parts kit was the trigger safety. It would get caught on the frame with my trigger finger centered on the trigger occasionally while shooting. You can see that here if I intentionally cause it to happen. I haven’t had this issue with other triggers.

That said, on my second range trip out after my first range trip and a bit of dryfire, I think the shoe is broken in pretty well and I haven’t experienced this issue since, so I chaulk that up to a break in period.

Overall, I was really happy with the SCT kit and its definitely a good option if you need to finish an after market frame with a quality parts kit. OEM is still king, but for budget builds you can’t go wrong with SCT.
