Kore is quickly becoming a household name in the gun community for their high quality shooting belts and accessories at incredibly affordable prices given the quality of their products.
In fact when Kore reached out with interest in sending me their latest competition belt for review, I was ecstatic, as I already was a big fan of the brand having run their battle belt in the past.
The World’s First Micro Adjustable shooting belt
The cool thing about this belt is that it is the world’s first micro adjustable competition shooting belt. The belt has a wratcheting system, which I am a huge fan of. My EDC belt already had this feature, and truthfully, I think this is the future of belt designs.
The kore belt has 20 adjustment positions, each a 1/4″ meaning that you can loosen and tighten the belt as needed on the fly without having to deal with loosening and tightening velcro. This is great in competition, as you might want to tighten the belt before while you’re in the hole than loosen it up a little for comfort after a set.
The belt is designed to be used with inner and outer belt system, the inner belt looping through your pants and the outer belt attaching to the outside like most competition and battle belt designs, allowing you to keep accessories mounted without having the loop them on as you loop the belt around your pants.
Assembling the KORE Belt
There is some assembly required so to speak, but the belt is fairly easy to setup. Kore provides extremely detailed instructions, but make sure to follow them carefully and you’ll be alright. I did find that I had some difficulty cutting the outer belt because it is so rigid with just a scissors. However, scoring both sides with my outdoor edge knife first made it a bit easier to cut cleanly.
Once I had everything assembled, I quickly realized what makes this belt special. The buckle is heavy duty. Oftentimes the buckle is the weakest point on any given belt, this one feels like it’ll hold securely even under a good amount of weight. Kore rates it with a 15lb load rating. Some of our local competitions do crazy things like attach weight to a carabiner to your belt or have you drag something with your belt. A lot of guys’ belts will fail. I don’t think that’ll be a problem with this one. I can’t say the same with my previous competition shooting belt and its plastic buckle.
I’d say this is comparable in terms of its ruggedness to my Cobra buckle equipped belts.
The Belt Performs great for only $129.99
Running this at home with dryfire exercises, it seems to be performing great. I can’t see any reason why this won’t perform well in my next match, and you’ll start to see this belt in a lot more of my videos as its going to be my primary belt moving forward for all of the matches that I shoot.
So overall this belt is good to go. At $129.99 for the complete inner and outer belt setups, I think this belt is a really great value. If you’re serious about getting into competitive shooting, Kore set the bar high with this one.
