The Most Affordable RMR Pattern Red Dot from a Reputable Brand

The primary arms classic series mini reflex sight is a very budget friendly RMR footprint red dot optic. It’s basic, but basic doesn’t mean bad. That of course is the case with the entire primary arms classic lineup. The classic line is simple, they work, and they are budget friendly.

Budget Price, Descent Performance

The red dot works well. It holds zero well, at least so far with the low round count I’ve put through it. If that changes in the future I’ll pin that in a comment on this video. The controls are simple push buttons.

The Primary Arms MRS Mini Reflex Sight now features Autolive technology. This feature turns off after sitting still and will automatically turn on at the slightest motion helping to conserve battery life. The Mini Reflex Sight is optimized for full size carry pistols or competition guns as it features a large 24x17mm lens allowing for a quick and easy sight picture all while weighing under an ounce.

Trade offs for Budget Price

The turrets are pretty subpar, given that they don’t have a click adjustment feature and they use a tiny allen key, which is a pain to carry around with young on range trips. The battery compartment also mounts for the bottom meaning that you have to take the optic off of the weapon to change batteries.

Great features for the Price

The dot does feature an auto off feature, which oftentime is a feature missing from budget red dots. The glass has a typical window size of 24 mm. Construction is durable, although it feels a little less beefier than say Holosun offerings.

Extremely Competitively Priced

Overall this dot really doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles, but it isn’t marketed for that. Is this the budget red dot to stockpile for all of your pistols? Well that depends on what you value. There are budget friendly options with more features and arugably better glass.

The Cyelee Wolf 2, which I review in another video, is a really strong contender, as it comes in about $30 cheaper than this optic and has more features, as well as crystal clear glass. However, if you buy a classic series red dot from primary arms, you get Primary arms limited lifetime warranty and along with it their customer service.

Budget Price from an American Company

You’re also supporting a really based American company. So its hard for me to be objective because as a company, I’m a huge fan of primary arms, owning several of their rifle optics. However, I’ll say that of current budget optic options available in 2024, the Cyelee offerings are probably a little better dollar for dollar.

Very affordable with first responder / MIL discount

That said, if you can get a first responder or active duty LEO or military discount, the Primary Arms option is incredibly affordable and easily beats out anything offered by other brands. So if you are someone who is elligible for Primary Arms discounts, then yes, this is a good buy to stock up for all your range pistols.

Final Thoughts on the Primary Arms RMR Footprint Red Dot

That said, as long as you don’t expect top dollar features, this little RMR footprint optic I think will serve you pretty well.
