How to Use the Scoring Shooting Mode

MARS Mobile features both drills, as well as more general shooting modes. The shooting modes are set up in such a way that you can define your own drills to supplement the drills MARS supports out of box.

The scoring shooting mode has no time or number of hit restraints, much like the free shooting mode. However, it does have score tracking. This is useful if you want to run your own drills while tracking specific metrics like USPSA target zone hits, or if you want to run a small competition with some friends (it allows you to define your own point system for various target areas).

It can also be useful to practice precision shooting exercises, like bullseye shooting.

Why and When to Use the Scoring Mode

I use the scoring mode personally most often when I want to mess around with trying new gear, but want to track my A-zone hits. Some examples would be practicing with a new piece of gear while moving between cover. I don’t want to have to reset the drill every time, so I might just practice with the equipment or technique in this mode without the time or hit constraints of other modes and drills.
